<p>B4 Investigate, as a fintech company, focuses on increasing IT awareness through proprietary technology and methods, as well as conducting training on financial harm and fraud detection. The company chose to take another step forward and broaden its offering with a unique, highly-specialized web platform (SaaS – System as a Service) after successfully giving financial fraud detection help to its customers through a desktop program.</p><p>This application will help business owners in locating evidence of criminal activity within their businesses. It will also be accessible immediately via a web browser. B4 Investigate sought Codete's assistance in developing the web solution that will aid in the detection of frauds.</p><p>&nbsp;</p>

<p>After successfully delivering financial fraud detection support to their customers thanks to a desktop application, B4 Investigate decided to take one more step forward and expand its offer with a unique, highly-specialized online platform (SaaS – System as a Service). This tool will help the companies’ owners find traces of crime in the activities within their organizations. It will also be available directly in the internet browser.</p><p>To build the online solution that will help detect frauds, B4 Investigate asked Codete for support in the whole process of creation. Our experts were asked to assemble a scalable tool based on modern technologies so that the original version of the B4 Investigate software could be transferred to the cloud. After our idea of the solution was accepted, we invited the client to take part in a workshop dedicated to:</p><div class="raw-html-embed"><ul>

After analyzing Codete’s proposal and taking part in the series of workshops, the company decided to start the official collaboration that resulted in planning the creation of a B4 PreCrime Cloud platform. This tool is dedicated to the integration of the currently existing desktop product with actual analytics applications via Open Database Connectivity (ODBC) connectors and data transfer using different file formats.</p><p>Resultantly, we have agreed to support B4 Investigate in creating a B4 PreCrime Cloud platform from the technical side, so that it can be accessed by the subscribers for detecting potential financial damage. Designed from the original version of the desktop application, B4 PreCrime Cloud consists of an analytics application developed in the software Arbutus Analyzer with templates in Excel and Word format. All data is stored on-premises and B4 Investigate keeps track of key information about subscribers.</p><p>The future plans of Codete and B4 Investigate cooperation are divided into two phases:</p><div class="raw-html-embed"><ul>
<li>phase 1 is planned for 4 to 6 months and it involves supporting MVP development,</li>

<p>B4 Investigate was looking for an experienced and skilled team of IT professionals who are ready to focus on several different online platform-building aspects. As a result, we offered them a solution that will let the users check three radars to gain an answer to the crucial question: “Does my business activity show any signs of financial damage?”.&nbsp;</p><p>Our role was to prepare and conduct several days of workshops that let us suggest the optimal technological stack and a scalable infrastructure together with timed calculations. That combination was crucial for figuring out the range of works developed during the workshop. As a result, in response to the B4 Investigate request, Codete set up a team of experts including two engineers, one tester, and a project manager, responsible for delivering the described solution. A team that has expanded with an additional engineer.&nbsp; The whole process took place in constant cooperation with the client.</p><p><i>“When we approached Codete, one of the key things was doing a workshop to assess the desires and needs we have to create this platform. Our client created and delivered project parameters in the course of development, everything was executed in real-time. Despite a strict time frame of 6-8 weeks for the project, we managed to deliver a solution that met our partner’s expectations as early as 2 weeks before the due date.</p>

<div class="raw-html-embed"><h3>Backend development: Improving software testing</h3></div><p>The client needed to create a backend platform for test automation that would enable, facilitate and speed up their automated testing. The company’s e-commerce platform features a vast number of articles, payments processing pages, product types, and numerous layouts – all of which made testing very challenging.&nbsp;</p><p>We provided Home24 with a dedicated team of software developers who performed the initial research and suggested a tool for automatic acceptance tests – Codeception. The team then proceeded with the development of a custom backend testing system for running automated tests. We discovered and solved a problem that emerged in script development and parallel test performance, all the while keeping resource access under control. The new platform empowers developers to deliver new tests quickly and has greatly increased code coverage.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><div class="raw-html-embed"><h3>Frontend development: Feature-driven development</h3></div><p>A team composed of two skilled frontend developers is responsible for creating Home24’s frontend components using the latest technologies. So far, the team has been involved in building a platform that delivers React components. The service is developed in Node.js, based on the Serverless framework. Our engineers have participated in a two-week-long onboarding process at the client’s headquarters in Berlin, as we offer the opportunity to work onsite with the client. In the future, we plan to expand the Home24 dedicated development team and scale it to meet all of our client’s needs.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><div class="raw-html-embed"><h3>Mobile development: Introducing emerging technologies</h3></div><p>Our team of mobile developers was initially involved in completing the rewrite of Home24’s mobile application to Swift. Following its publication, we were responsible for support, building new functionalities, and eliminating legacy code. We cleared the majority of dependencies and covered most of the code with unit tests. We successfully automated most of the processes using Fastlane, and integrated them with the App Center, building Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery pipelines. The Codete dedicated mobile team now aims to modularize our partner’s mobile applications and create a coherent system of components for building new functionalities – for example, for displaying furniture models with augmented reality (AR).</p>

<p>The Courtyard Suite Dreams Contest project was a competition associated with the world-famous NFL Super Bowl. Our client needed an experienced development team to create a system for tracking competition-related posts on Instagram and Twitter and then presenting them on a webpage that also included the rules, tasks, and results of the competition.</p><p>Codete has directly handled the technical aspects and processes of the project. We implemented a solution for downloading competition-related content from Instagram and Twitter at appropriate intervals, developed an intuitive admin panel and delivered a website for the contest. Our team relied mainly on PHP and Symfony 2.</p>

<p>The NFL needed an experienced development team to create a system for tracking Instagram and Twitter posts related to their video contest, and presenting them on a dedicated landing page together with its results and conditions. The contest was divided into four quiz stages followed by voting, score counting, and publishing the scores.&nbsp;</p><p>We were responsible for all of the technical aspects of the project. These included: the system for tracking and downloading content at set intervals itself, an administration panel, and a complimentary quiz website for the public with all the content, score estimates, and social media share options.</p>
